To All of You Runners, Walkers and Cyclists...Beware!

Because I am diligent about doing a functional blood analysis every six months, I am able to stay on top of what is going on with the function of my liver, adrenals, immune system, digestion etc...
A few months ago I began jogging again up at Mira Costa College. About a month into my daily ritual , I was due for my six month functional blood analysis. My results showed that my liver was under a great deal of stress, I had become acidic and my white blood cell count went down quite a bit. Sure enough, we figured out that it was directly related to running near the road so that I was inhaling the exhaust from the cars and the buses.

My naturopath explained that she sees that often with her runners, walkers and cyclists. I immediately changed my coarse to running down around the track where there are no cars and I began taking approximately 600 mg. of Milk Thistle (capsules) daily. I retested a month later and those issues were almost completely back in balance so I went one more month on the Milk Thistle.

I learned the huge effects that environmental toxins have on our body, especially pollution. Beware to all of you who are running, walking and cycling along busy streets and highways. Something so healthy could actually be damaging your health without you knowing it.

In Loving Memory of My Grandmother, Anna Maria Helena Dammeyer

This was the eulogy that I wrote almost a year ago in honor of my grandmother who died December 16, 2009 at the age of 94. I wrote this on behalf of my father who I am sure would have given the most beautiful eulogy in honor of his mother had he been alive. May he also rest in peace.

"A Saint"
When speaking about Grandma to others, I have always freely and without hesitation, referred to her as a "saint." I looked up the word "saint" in the dictionary and it says, "a person considered holy and worthy of profound honor and respect."
It was January of 1993 while I was here visiting my father that I spent a night with Grandma. Throughout the course of hers and my evening together, I would have to interrupt our precious time together in order to tend to my most powerful and long lived addiction. There I was in the dead of winter smoking my cigarettes out on her patio. She would lovingly and patiently wait for me inside until I was finished.
It was about my third cigarette break that night when I suddenly had a moment of clarity. I went inside her house and without reservation, I shared with Grandma my deep desire to be free from that addiction...that I wanted so badly to be able to wake up that next morning and never smoke again. Grandma quickly grabbed onto me, then lovingly pulled me into her arms and told me that she would pray for me that night.
The next morning when we woke up, I thanked her for our beautiful evening together and for all of her prayers. Miraculously, I never had another cigarette since that night at Grandma's 16 years ago.
We were related to...we were friends with...and we were adored by a saint. The love for us that lived in her heart was so big that it pained her.
She embodied unconditional love...she mastered the art of giving...she lived her life in prayer...and she held no judgement.
We felt the blessings of her love in her homemaking, we felt the blessings of her love in her laughter, we felt the blessings in her gentle and adoring eyes and most of all in the humility of her peaceful presence.
We will continue to feel her blessings as we go on in our lives recognizing her magnificent love that resides within us and continues to manifest in all of who we are.
I think that I can speak on behalf of all of us that we are eternally grateful to her three sons, my father Bruce, may he rest in peace, Dennis and Duane and their wives for taking such incredible care of her all of these years. Thank you so very much.
The legend of her love lives in all of us and I could not be more blessed to be here witnessing the beauty of her spirit within all of you and your families.
And finally, after Grandma gave us all...the gift of...the greatest love that we could ever know here on this earth, we now bless her as she finally receives the heavenly gifts that she so deserves.
As we celebrate the spirit of Christmas, which was one of her favorite holidays, let us also celebrate the purity of and the beautiful spirit of Anna Maria Helena Dammeyer.

My Purpose in Offering"The Exotic Dance Workshop"

What are we doing with this beautiful God given and sacred gift called "sexuality"? It seems to me that many of us have exploited and distorted this wondrous gift to the point of mayhem and injury. The injury, I believe, is to our own heart and soul, as well as, within the constant destruction of relationships between men and women.
I do acknowledge and thank the many people in this world who have a beautiful mastery in this area and who continue to model a pure and healthy respect for theirs and other's sexuality.
It feels as though I could write for days on this subject and especially about my own sexuality, how I had been deeply affected by my earlier years of painful behaviors, experiences and perspectives.
In short, going from a little girl in grade school who had been bullied and made fun of for being overweight and wearing glasses, to a teenage bikini icon I was desperate to be the latter forever. I became so over identified with my sexuality that no one, including myself, could ever possibly see the true essence of who I really was.
Through my 23 years of recovery from addictions, I have made tremendous progress in this most complex and colorful arena. I have finally discovered how the essence of love and sexuality are one in me and how the beauty of that experience is so transcending. I am commited to staying on this path of true love for myself.
Where my sexuality has always been easily accessible and sometimes "over-the-top", I have come to understand that sadly, many women have never felt at all connected to theirs and/or have lost their connection to their sexuality due to the way they were raised, having children, demanding careers, long term marriages etc...
For marketing purposes and for being easier on the general consumers' ears, I have used the term "exotic dance," however, the true term would be "erotic dance." Through erotic dance and the strip tease experience, I am able to facilitate women in feeling the magic of this God given gift of passion and sensuality in its most pure and beautiful expression. As a result, every woman walks away from this workshop feeling sexier as a woman, healthier, more alive, a new found love for their bodies, and most of all, they can feel how spiritual the experience really is.
This workshop is for both single women and for women in relationships. My hopes for every woman who participates is that the man who does eventually receive her dance, be a man who is loving, respectful and worthy of such a sacred gift.
